PROLOGUE

Long-term MMO preservation spanning infrastructure, tooling, APIs and client modernization.

My relationship with Dragon’s Prophet started inside the official game: QA, Game Master work, localization and translating western player feedback. When the service shut down, a Runewaker contact passed on server material with a wish that the game should not vanish.

Preservation means more than running an old server: it includes infrastructure, source maintenance, recovered tools, exploit fixes and making the client survive modern hardware.

How I untangled itThe turning point

Experience progressed from QA, GM and localization into server recovery, Windows/Linux operations, C# services, player APIs, source maintenance, DX11 parity and restored tooling.
