VRChat Worlds
Social interaction systems and a localized multiplayer board game
Two public VR worlds combining interaction, multiplayer state, localization and optimization.
The bathhouse made social space physical through haptics, buoyancy, fish and environmental responses. Know Your Friends in Space explored how to keep a board game synchronized across PC, Oculus, Japanese and English.
Players share a logical question ID while reading from separate language arrays, so two people can see different text and still play the same turn.
What I walked intoThe setup
Create expressive social spaces that work across PC and Oculus and remain understandable to Japanese and English players.
How I untangled itThe turning point
The bathhouse uses haptics, buoyancy and fish. Know Your Friends in Space synchronizes logical question IDs while each player reads the same question from their own language array, with spatial audio and culling zones.
